What movies have ya seen?

Just watched The Wolfman (theatrical version) last night.
Wasn't so bad. Showed some of the Wolfman parts to the
midget, and he was impressed. Don't know about showin
the whole thing to an 8-yr-old. Although, he keeps beggin'
me to see it. Bein such a fan of the Universal classics and
all. AND, there was a guy, when I saw this in the theatre,
who sat right in fronta us with his VERY YOUNG son! An' he
looked about Noah's age then....mmm....Anyhow, good movie!

Just watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull.
My son saw it without me in the theatre, I missed this one.
Saw the 1st three in the theatre, I wish I saw this with my son
when he saw it. But, he wanted me to see it. So I saw a mint
2-disc in a 2nd-hand shop for $12 bucks and bought it and
he had the best time watchin it again. And I gotta say, I did
too. Gettin past what people say about a work of fiction, ya go
into it yourself with low expectations, and you can have a great
time. And I did.
Who cares if half the stuff they do in there defies logic. Of course
it will!! It's Lucas and Spielberg! Look at their reps, then, just
enjoy the show!

Saw Toy Story yesterday. It was the midget's first cinema experience. He really loved it.
The movie was excellent. Great story, great special effects, fantastic all around. One warning: If you have really young kids, there's one scene that can freak them out a little. And the bad guy is actually pretty creepy.

Isn't that great, Ari? Takin the youngin' to see his first
picture show!! Nothin beats it! And if it was in 3-D,
I love lookin at 'im in awe of the picture with these
HUUUGE glasses on his face, shovelin' in popcorn.
First one the midget saw was The Nightmare Before
Xmas and he LOOOOVED it! So did I. But, I saw it
before back in '93.

We kinda talked about givin up the 3-D thing on SOME
of the movies comin out. One of the movies we saw in
the theatre, we caught on video, and it was a lot nicer.
Just as enjoyable. Less annoying. Don't get me wrong!
The 3-D thing is cool...it's just a rip-off to pay that much
for a kid's movie AND concessions. Either that, or I'm just
gettin old.....Anyhow, TRON: Legacy is one of the movies
we agreed on that we'd go see in 3-D next. And, when
Avatar hits theatres again, we're gonna take the
mom to see it, since she missed it the first time. That
movie was worth 3-D! And it'll be a longer version.

Watched "Legend of 1900" a couple of days ago. Wow! Great movie. If any of you get a chance, you have to see it. You can look it up on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_1900, but just reading about it doesn't do justice.

In the last coupla weeks, I saw Inception which i thought was genius!
Christopher Nolan is a master at what he does. and the editing in this
movie, and the levels of suspense going on all at once in the story prove
it beyond a shadow of a doubt. I also think Insomnia and The Prestige
are very under rated and very over looked. I think everyone's just
forgotten about em.

Last night I saw Predators. Thought the story was pretty good. And the
acting was very good. I'm glad I don't read reviews for movies, I act
mostly on word of mouth, and have never been disappointed. This was
a fun, tense action flick. And I like how it ties its story to the 1st Predator
movie. This movie is alotta fun. Topher Grace is a big hit in it, too!

Gotta recommend Ben Affleck's The Town. Alotta critics
were comparing it to Michael Mann's Heat. Maybe because
of it's "tightly knit crew" angle. Or because of it's "intense shoot-outs".
Maybe even for the "driven-to-bring-em-down FBI agent" chasin the
bad guys. But, The Town is intense in its own way. Where Heat was a
stupendous character study in a heist drama, The Town is a great
heist thriller with some great characters. And Jeremy Renner plays
one scary character in this. And so does Pete Postlewaite.
Boston crew of thieves makes a string of robberys that catch the
eye of an FBI agent. When the last robbery has the crew take a
hostage, things get difficult for the crew's "planner" (Affleck), who's
tryin to protect her from his crew and from the FBI.
Ben Affleck is starting to earn his stripes. 2 in a row.
Very good writing and directing.

Saw RED yesterday. Pretty funny! When I saw the tralier
for it and the changes made to the story with all the big
names, i thought it was gonna be bad. But, kept my
expectations low, and it was a lot better then hoped.
The stand-out to the movie hadda be Mary Louise-Parker.
Very funny! All the rest were great, even the cameo by...
well, if ya havent seen it, you'll be surprised. Nothin to
go "HOLY CRAP!!" over, but still very humorous. Even
Ernest Borgnine had a nice turn it.

I watched a few dvds today, for New Year's,
Hellboy, the 1st one, a bit uneven, but, still pretty good.
Insomnia - the forgotten, highly under-rated, genius remake
by Christopher Nolan.
and an HK thriller that deserves a word called Fulltime Killer
